Student art for August 2013

Teachers, parents or grandparents can submit two-dimensional work by students in preschool through 12th grade. Please include the artist’s name, age or grade in school and any title or description of the work, including the media used.   • Zaida De La O, a recent graduate of Janesville Craig High School, used pen and ink to create this drawing. The work was submitted by art teacher Maria Kane.
  • Selenna Bautista, a sophomore at Janesville Craig High School, used acrylic paints on canvas to create this image. The work was submitted by art teacher Lori Barry.
  • Erin Sorg, top, and Kayla Ramirez, both seventh-graders at Phoenix Middle School in Delavan, created these images for art class. The works were submitted by art teacher Hugh Petersen.
  • Marcia Petrone, a junior at Janesville Craig High School, used oils on paper to create this image. The work was submitted by art teacher Lori Barry.
  • Skye Galaviz, a junior at Janesville Craig High School, used pens and watercolors to create this drawing. The work was submitted by art teacher Maria Kane.
  • Samantha Bomkamp, a recent graduate from Janesville Craig High School, used pencils and pastel drawing to create this image. The work was submitted by art teacher Maria Kane.
  • Ryli Decorah, a recent graduate of Janesville Craig High School, used oil on paper to create this image in art class. The work was submitted by art teacher Lori Barry.
  • Maddy Dodge, a junior at Orfordville Parkview High School, used colored pencil to create this image. The work was submitted by her grandmother.
  • Sasha Apfel, an eighth-grader at Franklin Middle School, created this interpretation of a peacock by incorporating a tempera paint handprint along with value shading colored pencils. The work was submitted by art teacher Sharon Whitcomb-Gaver.
