WHITEWATER—A hang gliding competition will take over the Twin Oaks Airport in Whitewater starting Sunday, and the public is welcome to watch, according to a news release.

The competition is weather dependent and runs from Sunday through Saturday, June 4-10, with an orientation for pilots Saturday, June 3, said Dale Maas of the Whitewater Hang Gliding Club.

Eighty pilots from around the world are coming for the competition, including Jonny Durand and Andre Wolfe, “the two highest-ranked pilots in the world,” the release states.

Maas said people may come to watch the pilots after noon each day.

The Twin Oaks Airport is located on County N just north of Whitewater.
