Freshman Brooke Graesslin finished 11th to lead Janesville Parker High to a fifth-place finish in the 12-team Bulldog Invitational girls cross country meet Friday afternoon at West Allis.
Graesslin finished in 21:16. Hollie Poehler, a senior from Oak Creek, finished first in 19:26.79.
Parker sophomore Alexis Fenrick finished 15th in 21:28.
Vikings girls coach Mark Little says this season is starting later than previous seasons he has coach.
“But it seems like the girls are a little ahead of where they were last year,” Little said.
The girls team is now idle until Saturday, Sept. 19, when it competes in the Waukesha North invitational.
