Motorcyclist dies in Walworth County crash

TOWN OF TROY—A Waukesha motorcyclist died in a crash at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on County ES, the Walworth County Sheriff's Office reported Monday.

Vernon Shaner, 48, was riding west on the county road just west of Kadad Lane and had just passed a pickup truck when he entered a curve, slid on the grass and crashed into a power pole, according to the news release.

Police and rescue workers administered rescue efforts, and Shaner was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the release states.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating.
