JANESVILLE—A Janesville man was arrested on charges of fleeing and other traffic violations after an early Friday morning vehicle pursuit on the east side of Janesville, according to Lt. Charles Aagaard.
The pursuit started at 1:20 a.m. after a Janesville police officer saw a vehicle speeding. When the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, driver Jeremy D. Kroning, 31, of 170 S. Jackson St., No. 200, sped off at speeds of up to 55 mph, Aagaard said.
The officer pursued Kroning for a about four miles but ended the pursuit after being directed to do so by a supervisor. The driver then began obeying traffic laws, and officers continued to follow the vehicle, according to a police news release.
A police sergeant put stop sticks across the 300 block of South Main Street, and the sticks struck the vehicle's front driver-side tire. The vehicle eventually pulled into a driveway in the 100 block South Jackson Street, and Kroning was arrested, according to the release.
Kroning was in custody at the Rock County Jail waiting to make his initial court appearance, Aagaard said.
