EAST TROY—A 44-year-old out-of-state skydiver injured in a skydiving accident Thursday night in the village of East Troy was scheduled for surgery Friday morning at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, Village of East Troy Police Chief Alan Boyes said.
“From my understanding, what I've been relayed from my officers who went to the hospital last night, he was talking, alive, going to be OK,” he said.
The man's identity was not being released because Boyes did not know if family had been notified, the chief said.
Police responded at 8:29 p.m. Thursday to a parachute accident in the area of Steeple Drive and Brittany Lane in the Village of East Troy, according to a police department news release.
They found a man who had been injured while skydiving, Boyes said.

“He's been doing parachuting for quite some time,” Boyes said.
Boyes said it is not known what happened to cause the skydiving accident.
“He was doing parachute jumps and something happened,” he said.
The man was found on the ground with his parachute next to him, Boyes said, it is not clear if the parachute fully deployed.
