The Lake Geneva boys golf team exceeded expectations at the WIAA Division 1 state tournament.
The Badgers shot a second-round 317 to move up five spots and finish fourth in the team standings Tuesday at University Ridge. Badger finished with a two-day total of 641 strokes.
Arrowhead, which won Janesville Parker’s Ashenfelter Invitational during the regular season, shot 623 and held off Green Bay Notre Dame by one stroke to win the state championship.
Neenah’s Sam Galloway shot 1-under 71 in each of his two rounds to win the D1 individual title by one stroke over Greendale’s Nate Thomson. Badger’s Jonathan Duggan shot 151 to finish in a tie for eighth.
Lodi ran away with the Division 2 title after building a big lead Monday. Lodi shot 603 to beat Edgewood by 27 strokes. Lodi’s Adam Miller shot even-par 144 over the two days to win the individual title by one.
St. Mary’s Springs (667) and Mineral Point’s Taylor Ryman (152) won the team and individual titles in Division 3.
