Robert J. Deegan passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Ladysmith, WI, at the age of 80. Bob was born on Aug. 27, 1934, in Watertown, WI, to Daniel and Ada Deegan. He married Pauline Brandenburg, on March 16, 1984. They lived in Janesville, until Bob retired from General Motors after 33 years of work. After moving to Ladysmith, Bob began working on the farm they purchased. Bob loved his farm and his tractors. He took pride in all the hard work it took to run the farm. He was an unique individual who loved the outdoors and who was passionate about hunting, fishing, farming, and anything the outdoors could bring him. Bob and Pauline went on many hunting trips where he was able to tag elk, moose, caribou, bear, mule and whitetail deer, and antelope. He was a member of trap shooting clubs, bow leagues, bowling leagues, and snowmobiling clubs. He also raced snowmobiles.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pauline Deegan; his son, Doug (Cindy) Deegan; daughters: Debbie (Mark) Rossiter, Diana (Glen) Deegan and Danita (Michael J.) Reise; his brothers: Louie (Connie) Deegan, Danny Deegan, Donny (Debbie) Deegan, Ronald (Lori) Deegan; sisters: Rosey (Terry) Krance, Betty (Ronald) Schlitz, Mary Schlitz and Shirley (Rich) Kilpin; his friends, Chris Miller and Dave Hraban. He has 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Ada; brothers, Jimmy and John; and sisters, Helen Messier and Janette Colton.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 12 p.m. on Friday March 20, 2015, at NASH JACKAN FUNERAL HOME in Ladysmith. A luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. at Cedar Lodge. Deacon Doug Sorenson will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob's life.
