Darien woman facing Rock, Walworth county burglary charges

ELKHORN—A Darien woman suspected in several burglaries and arrested with help from a Janesville police dog in August now faces more burglary charges in Walworth County Court.
On Aug. 14, a Janesville police dog found and held onto the arm of Amanda M. Rodden-Clawson, 25, in the basement of the Drunken Monkey until police arrested her, Janesville police reported.
Police arrested Rodden-Clawson on charges that included nine burglaries over the summer, mostly to bars.
Criminal complaints filed last week in Walworth County Court connect Rodden-Clawson to three more burglaries.
Walworth County sheriff's deputies on June 18 responded to a security alarm at the Boar's Nest in the town of Sharon, according to the criminal complaint. A detective interviewed Rodden-Clawson on Aug. 17, when she said she went to the Boar's Nest for a drink but burglarized it when she discovered it was closed.
The owner of New Horizon's Bar in the city of Delavan reported that on June 21 someone broke into the bar, according to the complaint.
Then on Aug. 12, a bar employee called police because a woman was burglarizing the bar and was chased away by the owner, according to the complaint. Money had been taken from two video poker machines in the bar.
The owner told police days later he saw on Facebook that Janesville police had arrested Rodden-Clawson, and he recognized her as the woman he had chased away from his tavern, according to the complaint.
Rodden-Clawson admitted to police she was involved in the three burglaries, according to the complaint.
Future court dates are not listed in her Walworth County cases.
Rodden-Clawson is next due in Rock County Court on her burglary charges at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.
