Whitewater looking for applicants to fill council seat
WHITEWATER—Whitewater is seeking applicants to fill a vacant city council seat following the graduation of former member and UW-Whitewater student James Langnes III.
Applicants must live in aldermanic District No. 2, which covers parts of the university as well as some homes west of campus. The appointment will be until April, when the appointee could run for another term.
Regularly scheduled council meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Council members also serve on various municipal boards or commissions.
Applications are due Tuesday, July 11, and the council will consider candidates at its Tuesday, July 18, meeting.

The application asks for employment history, educational background, political experience and community service.
