Lake Geneva man faces fifth OWI
ELKHORN—Walworth County prosecutors charged a Lake Geneva man with fifth-offense intoxicated driving after police said they found him sleeping in the driver's seat with the key in the ignition, according to a criminal complaint.
Town of Delavan police said they found Kyle D. Gindorff, 30, of N3486 Highway 67, Stop 5, in his vehicle at about 7:54 p.m. March 3 in the town of Delavan, according to the complaint.
Gindorff admitted drinking beer earlier in the day, and police found Steel Reserve beer in the car, according to the complaint.
“I ain't no zero and you knew it will arrest me, but I not drive while I stopped here,"
Gindorff reportedly told police. "Because I know I should leave truck here til friend come here to pick his truck up but I had to wait. Can you take me to home. You came to check on me, and I am stuck here.”
Gindorff was convicted of OWI violations twice in 2008 and in 2010 and 2011, according to the complaint.
