Shoppers will converge on southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois on Friday and Saturday, March 3 and March 4, for the fourth annual Vintage Shop Hop.

More than 300 locally owned vintage shops, antique malls, boutiques, occasional and pop-up shops, barn sales and restaurants in two states are rolling out the red carpet for customers with discounts, giveaways, raffle drawings, demos, ideas on repurposing old items and more.

The shop hop is a self-guided road trip for vintage and antique lovers.

“The idea was simply to give the shopper a reason to call their friends and spend the day shopping for vintage decor in their own backyard,” says event organizer Ann Campos. “I wanted to make it easy for them to hop from shop to shop while supporting small business at the same time.”

Campos used her event planning and marketing skills to come up with the Vintage Shop Hop. Each shop is required to have an in-store promotion for the weekend, and many shops go beyond complementary coffee and cookies.

An interactive Google map contains all of the shops with details that can be accessed on mobile devices. The public is invited to create their own self-guided road trip for the shop hop weekend. All shops and a link to the map are on the event's blog page and can be printed off at Vintageshophop.blogspot.com.
