Lake Geneva couple plead not guilty to meth charges

ELKHORN—A Lake Geneva couple have pleaded not guilty to possessing materials for making methamphetamine after a woman called police fearing her husband had overdosed.

Cody J. Lenard, 23, pleaded not guilty Feb. 3, and Erica Lenard, 30, pleaded not guilty Jan. 30, according to Walworth County Court records.

Erica called police Jan. 18 after returning from work to The Wesley Inn & Resort, 625 Wells St., Lake Geneva, and finding Cody, who she thought was suffering a drug overdose, according to a criminal complaint.

When they arrived, police found materials often used to make meth, including cold packs, camp fuel, lithium batteries and a receipt for pseudoephedrine, according to the complaint.

Erica is next due in court for a status conference at 1:15 p.m. March 28. Cody is due in court at 1:15 p.m. April 6.
