East Troy shooting victim identified
EAST TROY—Village of East Troy police identified the man who died Monday from a shooting that led to two men being arrested on suspicion of reckless homicide.
The man who died is David A. Bauspies, 36, of McHenry, Illinois, according to a release from the village police department.
Robert Sterling, 31, McHenry, was referred to the district attorney's office on charges of reckless homicide and negligent handing of a dangerous weapon.
Tyler Odell, 22, of 2090 Emery Court, No. 3, East Troy, was referred on suspicion of party to reckless homicide.
Walworth County District Attorney Zeke Wiedenfeld said in court Tuesday Sterling fired the weapon that resulted in Bauspies' death. He also read from a notice of arrest that Odell provided the firearm and loaded it.
The incident was reported at 12:28 p.m. Monday at 2090 Emery Court for a report of gunshots, according to an earlier release from the department. They arrested Sterling and Odell after finding Bauspies dead.
Wiedenfeld said more details about the incident will be included in criminal complaints prosecutors plan to file tomorrow or Friday.
Judge Kristine Drettwan set cash bonds of $20,000 for Sterling and $10,000 for Odell.
Sterling is next due in court at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6. Odell is next due in court at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10.
