Rock County Snowmobile Trail open

JANESVILLE--The Rock County Snowmobile Trail is now open with 8 inches of snow and no base, according to a release from the Rock County Department of Public Works.  

The trails are not groomed and riders should watch for reroutes and closed sections. Standing crops are reported in some areas.  

Riders are reminded to check trail conditions frequently by calling 608/757-5458 or visiting our website at www.co.rock.wi.us or  www.travelwisconsin.com.   
    
All owners and operators of all-terrain vehicles are reminded that at no time are they permitted on snowmobile trails.

To snowmobile on private land, permission must be received from the individual landowner.  

All snowmobiles must be registered with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
