The first day of autumn arrived Sept. 22 and with it a change of seasons in Walworth County.

The rush of summer visitors has slowed to a weekend trickle, and the scenery has begun its annual transformation to fall colors.

As part of our Bliss photo shoot, staff photographer Terry Mayer put together this collection of photographs to celebrate one of the beautiful times of year in this part of Wisconsin.

Colors already have begun to change in northern Wisconsin and have moved to the central part of the state. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources predicts that peak color will arrive in southern Wisconsin by the end of the month.
