Oktoberfest events fill calendar
Fall is in the air and Oktoberfest celebrations are on the calendar for Lake Geneva, Delavan and Elkhorn.
Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva's Oktoberfest takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 and Oct. 9. Head to downtown for pony rides, bouncy houses, performances and Scootoberfest games.
Events in Flat Iron Park include music, a craft fair and the Giant Pumpkin weigh-in.
The Great Pumpkin giveaway is an annual tradition that awards free pumpkins to the first 400 children age 10 and younger.
Admission to the event is free, and a free shuttle bus from Home Depot to downtown Lake Geneva will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Good eats include brats, potato pancakes and cider doughnuts. Wash it down with a cold one from Sprechtoberfest's beer tent.

The Geneva Lake Arts Foundation hosts an open house at Gallery 223 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at 223 Broad St.
The show displays works of members. Enjoy family art activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. outside of Gallery 223 as part of Oktoberfest. The gallery is open 10 a.m. 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Call 262-249-7988 or go to GenevaLakeArts Foundation.org.
Delavan
Lake Lawn Resort is hosting its annual Fall Family Festival on Friday, Oct. 7, through Monday, Oct. 10. The event includes hayrides and scarecrow building to pumpkin decorating, three-legged races and a $3-per-doughnut decorating station.
Hoo's Woods, a nonprofit that rescues and rehabilitates birds of prey, will showcase three raptors in the Great Room at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Watch the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” outdoors at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Elkhorn
Elkhorn hosts its Oktoberfest celebration from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at 100 W. Walworth St., downtown Elkhorn.
Shop from 100 crafters and vendors on the square. Plus enjoy a classic car show in the north parking lot of the government center. Kids activities include games, pumpkin decorating, bounce house and slides.
Tasty treats will be available from food vendors and a chili cook-off. The wine and beer tent will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside Pocket Park. Live entertainment, too.

Town of Delavan
