Delavan man charged with fifth OWI

ELKHORN—A Delavan man is charged in Walworth County with his fifth offense of operating while intoxicated and felony bail jumping, according to court documents.

Raul Valadez Rayas, 29, of 405 Pine St., Delavan, was stopped by police at 6:54 p.m. July 11 at the 500 block of Spring Street, Lake Geneva, according to the criminal complaint.

The arresting officer reported finding Valadez Rayas sitting in his car with an open Bud Light bottle, according to the complaint. He told police he had consumed seven or eight beers.

Valadez Rayas violated the terms of his bond for a 2015 operating while intoxicated charge, according to the complaint. He pleaded not guilty to that charge Oct. 22 and will appear in court in September, according to online court records.

Valadez Rayas was convicted of operating while intoxicated in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010, according to the complaint.
