Police searching for supect in Delavan armed robbery

DELAVAN — The Delavan Police Department is searching for a male suspect after an armed robbery Wednesday at the Delavan Speedway gas station, 803 E. Geneva St.

At 4:54 p.m. police received a report of an armed robbery. A male subject entered the gas station and displayed a small, black handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect then fled with an undetermined amount of cash, according to a news release from the Delavan Police Department.

The suspect is described as a white male with red hair, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a baseball cap with a black brim. The suspect is described as being between 18 and 23 years old, according to the news release.

Walworth County Sheriff's Department responded to assist in searching for the suspect. Police also used two K9 dogs, according to the news release.

There are no known suspects at this time.
