Mary Ellen Graef, 78, of Manheim, PA, formerly of the Midwest, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 2016, at the Masonic Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. Born in Winside, NE, she was the daughter of the late Jens A. and Mabel Anderson Christensen. Mary Ellen attended Manheim Brethren in Christ Church. Prior to retiring in 2002, she was employed as a certified nurses’ aide by Luther Acres in Lititz. Previously, she was employed by Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim. In addition to making and painting country crafts, she enjoyed solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, sing-alongs, and playing games. Family was very important to Mary Ellen and she was the center of the family.

Mary Ellen is survived by six children: Jennifer, wife of Tom Leedle of Lake Geneva, WI, Susan, wife of Tom Ford of Manheim, Michael, husband of Susan Graef of San Marcos, CA, Connie, wife of John Patten of Sharon, WI, Traci, wife of David Cooper of Culpeper, VA, and Gina, wife of Duane Ober of Manheim; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. at MANHEIM BRETHREN IN CHRIST CHURCH, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at a reception at the CHURCH immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Manheim Fairview Cemetery on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Please omit flowers.
