Jim P. Lund, age 78, of Beloit, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, as a result of a car accident. He was born March 8, 1937, to the late Olaf and Ida (Christensen) Lund in the Town of Beloit. Jim enlisted into the U.S. Army and served his Country until his honorable discharge. He married Dorothy A. Pollard on Feb. 18, 1961, in Beloit. Jim worked at the Beloit Corp. and the Clinton Pharmacy until his retirement. He was a longtime member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Jim volunteered as the sexton at Baldwin Cemetery and was the past chairman of the 4-H Club. He enjoyed farming, fishing and the outdoors. Jim’s humor and kindness will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lund; his daughter, Diane Lund; his four grandchildren: James (Jennifer) Plasky, Megan Plasky, Steven Lund and Amber (Nicholas) Krantz; his four great-grandchildren: Ezra, Jazmyne, Mackenzie and Jase; and his sister, Joyce (Phil) Pfeiffer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Philip James Lund; his two sisters, Evelyn and Jeanette; and his three brothers: Roland, Sylvester and Terry Sr.

Jim’s Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at ST. STEPHEN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 716 ShuLar Lane, Clinton, with Bill Connell officiating. Friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday at CHURCH and again on Saturday at CHURCH from 10 until 10:45 a.m. A memorial is being established in Jim’s name.
