Fort Atkinson, WI - Myrtle “Myrt” Evelyn Freeman, 92, of Fort Atkinson, passed peacefully on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Alden Estates in Jefferson. Myrt was born on Feb. 25, 1923, in Beloit, daughter of the late Russell and Ione (Sherman) Brown. She married Whitney C. Freeman on Oct. 28, 1943; he passed away on Aug. 20, 1991. She loved riding horses and spending time on the farm. She was also a loving and supportive sister. She was loved by all.
Myrt is survived by two grandchildren, Jeff (Rhonda) Agnew of Fort Atkinson and Nicole (Rick) Smith of Westminster, MD; four great-grandchildren: Spencer (Megan) Agnew of Fort Atkinson, Dylan Agnew of Fort Atkinson, Megan Agnew of Fort Atkinson and Alisha Schroeder of Westminster, MD; and one sister, Edith (Maurice) Kottwitz of Lake Mills. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hopkins; brother, Calvin Brown; and her daughter, Carol Schroeder.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at the Dunlap Memorial Home, 604 S. Main St., Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the memorial home until time of service. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
