TOWN OF GENEVA—Town of Geneva police say an early morning crash Tuesday on Highway 12 likely was caused by the sun blinding the driver.

"The sun was absolutely one of the contributing factors," said Town of Geneva police officer Robert Linder.

Linder said a single vehicle was eastbound on Highway 12 at about 7:50 a.m. when it ran into the back of an excavator also traveling eastbound at a slow speed.

Two people were transported from the scene, one by ambulance and the other by an employer, Linder said. A condition report was unavailable. The names of those involved will be released at a later date because there are "still some things pending," Linder said.

No criminal charges will be filed, Linder said. Citations are pending the investigation, he said.
