Delavan man arrested after police make drug raid at his home
DELAVAN—A Delavan man was arrested and was in jail on suspicion of possessing and delivering marijuana and cocaine after local authorities and federal agents raided his Delavan residence Tuesday morning, police said.
According to a release from the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit, Tyler J. McCready, 18, of Delavan, was arrested on suspicion of delivering marijuana, delivering cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest came after Delavan police, the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at McCready's residence at 626 Alder Ave., Delavan, at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the release.
Evodio Guzman, 19, of 626 Alder Ave., Delavan, was cited in the raid on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
McCready was being held at the Walworth County Jail on Tuesday, according to the release.
Authorities have not provided details about what led to the raid on McCready's residence Tuesday, and police haven't said why the DEA was involved. Police also did not give details on how much marijuana and cocaine were recovered during the search of the residence.
Police also did not indicate whether McCready and Guzman were at the residence at the time, or if they were arrested elsewhere.
The sheriff's office released information on the arrests late Wednesday, hours after the raid on McCready's residence, and sheriff's department officials were not available for comment late Wednesday.
