DELAVAN--Workers have removed a blown-over gas station canopy after strong winds, snow, freezing rain and sleet swept across the state Monday.

The National Weather Service does not have measurements for wind speeds in Walworth County, but winds reached a peak of 38 mph at 2 p.m. Monday in Janesville and 40 mph at 6 p.m. Monday in Burlington in Racine County, according to the National Weather Service in Sullivan.

The canopy of the Citgo Gas Station on the corner of Sugar Creek Road and County O in Delavan was loaded onto a semitrailer truck after being toppled during Monday's storm.

It took crews about three hours to complete the process. It's uncertain when the location will be open for business again.

No one was injured when the canopy fell to its side, according to the Delavan Fire Department.
