Janesville home the site of robbery, retaliatory burglary
JANESVILLE--Three adults and three juveniles from Janesville were arrested over the weekend in connection with two incidents of robbery and burglary at the same house — one of them apparently in retaliation for the other.
Two adults were taken into custody in connection with a December 11 incident in which several people inside 532 S. Franklin St. were robbed around 5:30 p.m., according to police:
—Roger H. Nuelk, 18, of 532 S. Franklin St., on charges of armed robbery, burglary and theft of movable property.
—Chad M. Jensen, 18, of 307 W. Van Buren St., on charges of armed robbery, burglary and theft.
Less than 24 hours later, at 1:58 p.m. Dec. 12, police were called to the same home and arrested four individuals in connection to a burglary, according to police:
—Brandon L. Gilmore, 19, of 515 N. Pearl St., 19 on a charge of burglary.
—Two 17-year-old boys, both on charges of carrying a facsimile firearm and burglary.
—One 16-year-old boy, on charges of carrying a facsimile firearm and burglary.
Sgt. Benji Thompson of the Janesville Police Department said he could not confirm if anyone was injured in either incident, nor could he confirm what weapons were used, citing an ongoing investigation.
Thompson said police are “still looking for people that may be associated” with the Dec. 11 incident. He added that “all the individuals” knew each other and police believe the second incident was made in retaliation for the first.
According to a police report for the Dec. 12 incident, a compressed air pellet pistol and brass knuckles were recovered as evidence. Stolen property included two television sets and three video game consoles.
