Beloit man charged with sixth-offense drunken driving

ELKHORN—A Beloit man is charged with sixth-offense drunken driving in Walworth County Court.
A Whitewater police officer reported stopping a vehicle driven by Michael Jones, 49, of 2675 Iva Court No. 1, Beloit, at about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in a parking lot outside an apartment complex at 154 N. Hyer Lane, Whitewater, according to the criminal complaint.
The officer noticed Jones was slurring his words, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes, the complaint states.
Jones is being held at the Walworth County Jail on a $6,000 cash bond. He will appear in court next at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Walworth County Judicial Center.
