Accidents

— EAST RACINE STREET NEAR FOREST PARK BOULEVARD, JANESVILLE, at 5:38 p.m. Monday, when an SUV driven by Candi M. Ruelas Valdovinos, 36, of 1130 Cherry St., Janesville, and a car driven by Brexton R. Capello, 18, of 1702 E. Racine St. No. 210, Janesville, sideswiped each other at a curve in the road. Capello was cited for crossing the centerline, driving too fast for conditions and driving without liability insurance. Ruelas Valdovinos was treated and released at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. Two passengers in the Ruelas Valdovinos vehicle, Aubriana Z. Steiner, 3, and Taliya D. Harvey, 1, both of 409 E. Wall St. No. 2, also were transported for medical treatment. Everyone involved was in a child safety seat or wore a seat belt.

Charged

— DEREAL M. GIPSON, 27, of Morrow, Georgia, charged with cocaine possession, a repeat drug possession offender. He is accused of possessing a 2-gram package of powder cocaine during a traffic stop at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday on Parker Drive at Black Bridge Road, Janesville.

— JACOB D. TOMTEN SR., 28, of 915 Cardinal Lane, Janesville, charged with forgery, fraudulent use of a credit card, felony retail theft, misdemeanor theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping. He is accused of forging checks and using a credit card of a man he knows Oct. 12-14, for losses of more than $1,000, stealing a vacuum cleaner valued at $599 from Target in Janesville on Oct. 27,. He also had syringes and heroin-cooking equipment and stole a laptop computer from a woman he knows Oct. 19.
