Randall E. Karlen passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, surrounded by his family, after fighting a two-year battle with cancer. Randy married Sally Franklin on May 14, 1994, in Footville WI. Randy attended Oak Grove Church in Evansville, and had a strong faith in God. We rejoice that he is now with his Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. He was born Dec. 13, 1952, in Monroe WI, the son of the late Walter and Dorothy Karlen. He grew up in Janesville, WI, and graduated from Parker High School in 1971. He worked as an auto body painter for most of his life, but he most enjoyed his time around the volleyball court. Watching Miranda play volleyball and seeing Isaac and his grandkids growing up, is what he cherished most. Randy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all.
Randy is survived by his wife, Sally (Franklin) of Evansville; and their children, Miranda and Isaac; his children from a previous marriage: Jonathan (Sabrina) Karlen, Angela (Joshua) Watkins and Rebecca (Jeremy) Johnson, all of Janesville; a sister, Shirley (Bill) Raatz; and a brother, Steven (Lucy) Karlen, both of Janesville; grandchildren: Haley Karlen, Jeffrey Johnson, Nicholas and Jacob Watkins, Juliet and Jordan Karlen; nephew, Zach; and many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27th, at WARD-HURTLEY FUNERAL HOME, 130 S Fifth St, Evansville, WI. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28th, at OAK GROVE CHURCH, 101 W Church St., Evansville. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date.
