Susan "Sue" Rose Long, Beloit, WI (1953-2015)
August 25, 1953 – November 15, 2015
Susan Rose Long passed away on the morning of Nov. 15, 2015, with her husband, Andrew, by her side after succumbing to a three-year battle with complications from diabetes at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit, WI. Susan was 62 years old. She was born in Janesville, WI, on Aug. 25, 1953. She was the oldest of four children of Charles, Sr. and Ruth (Solles) Perry. She graduated from South Beloit High School in 1971. After high school, Susan was employed at Freemans in South Beloit, where she met her future husband, Andrew. They married Dec. 2, 1972, and shortly after they purchased their first home in South Beloit, where they had five children. Susan had an innovative mind that took great pride in sewing clothes for her children and creating crafts that will now be heirlooms. Her greatest joy was raising her children, attending their sporting events, going to their classroom to make crafts and proudly watching them through-out their journey into adulthood. Susan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and cheering for the Chicago Cubs.
Susan was a proud mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband of nearly 43 years, Andrew Long of Beloit; son, Bryan (Tina) Long of Texas; daughters: Andrea Long of Oregon, Alicia Wagner (Seth Denzer) of Janesville, and Alexis Schultz of Janesville; grandchildren: James Wagner, Bryce Heerey, Skylre, Zander and Issac Schultz, Logan Long, Abby and Aiden Denzer; plus many family members and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Long, Jr.; her father, Charles Perry, Sr.; and her son-in-law, Bryan Schultz.
