James “Jim” E. Wright, 69, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at home, while under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice, Black River Falls. Jim was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Beloit, WI, to Theodore and Kathryn (Russell) Wright. He married Julie Wells on April 4, 1964, in South Beloit, IL. Jim was raised in Beloit, and attended South Beloit High School. He spent many years as a truck driver driving for White Brothers of South Beloit, and later for Millis Transfer of Black River Falls. He also managed the Harvard Apartments in Janesville, WI, for over 16 years. He loved wood working and was a carpenter. He took great pride in the making of crafts out of wood to show and sell at craft shows and flea markets. He was an avid hunter and loved to shoot trap and fish. He got great joy in raising his German Short Hair hunting dogs. His buddy and companion was “Rex” who could do no wrong and was always by his side day and night will be buried with him.
Jim is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Julie; daughter, Lisa K. (Romaine) Wright of Janesville, WI; sons, James E. Jr. ( Laurel) Wright of Jacksonville, FL, and Scott A. (Brandy) Wright of Black River Falls, WI; one brother, Gene L. (Annette) Wright of Beloit, WI; five grandchildren: Laura (Aaron) Hill, Selena, Isaiah, and Colt Wright, and Vaughn Hogston; adopted grandchildren: Holly (Sarah) Lambrecht, Gracee and Kayle Ott; adopted great-grandchildren, Charlie and Ben; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Kathryn; in-laws, Arnold and Ruth Wells; and one brother, Robert “John” Wright Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at FLORAL LAWN CEMETERY, 835 Dearborn Ave, South Beloit, IL, 61080. Friends and relatives may call from 4 until 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at TORGERSON FUNERAL HOME (715-284-4321), 408 North Water Street, Black River Falls, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to family. Directly following the committal, there will be a family gathering at Viking Lanes (210 Oak Grove Ave, South Beloit, IL). A message from Jim is, “I want my friends and family to know I have the following thoughts and feelings: I love them, please carry out my wishes.”
