Donald W. Fuller, age 80, a longtime Janesville area resident, passed away early Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. He was born on the family farm near Loganville, WI, on May 19, 1935, the son of the late Clarence W. and Esther (Lutterman) Fuller. Don served his country in the U.S. Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1956. Don married the love of his life, the former Marlene Betty Holly, on March 23, 1957, in Loganville, WI. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2012. He worked for General Motors for over 32 years in Soft Trim and Inspection, retiring in 1988. He was a very active, longtime member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Don served his church as an Usher, served as an Elder, and would willingly volunteer for any activity that needed a hand. Don will be remembered for his love of camping, and also for the times he spent at their camper at Lake Petenwell. He also enjoyed canoeing, sitting beside a good bonfire, and spending his time with his family and friends. He served as a Commissioner on the Town of Rock Board. He and his sons were very active in the Indian Guides when the boys were young. He and Marlene loved a great evening of friends and dancing! Don was a big fan of the Bass Creek Boys. He also loved playing cards, and was a member of many card clubs.
Don is survived by his two sons, Donald "Donnie" (Anna) Fuller II of Edgerton, and Thomas (Jane) Fuller of Janesville; his step-daughter, Sydney (Barry) Fazar of Mitchells, VA; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Walter Froelich of Madison, WI, Kathy Rufenacht of LaValle, WI, Marilyn (Wil) Sprecher of Prairie du Sac, WI, Ralph (Kathy) Holly of Reedsburg, WI, and Mark (Linda) Holly of Waukon, IA; and by nieces, nephews, and many good friends. Besides his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by his sisters, Vera Mae Fuller and Marian Froelich; and a brother-in-law, Richard Holly.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at MT. CALVARY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2940 Mineral Point Ave., with Rev. Corey Rajek officiating. Burial will follow in Town of Rock Cemetery in Afton. Friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the CHURCH. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials in Don's name would be appreciated to ECHO, Inc., 65 S. High St., Janesville, WI 53548, or to Mt.
