Cleone Ames, age 82, of Janesville, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Mercy Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1933, in DeSoto, WI, the daughter of Sam and Clara (Arneson) Yttri. Cleone married Francis “Franc” A. Ames on March 29, 1952, in LaCrosse, WI. He died on June 21, 2013. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years where she participated in the Washington School Breakfast Club, Women’s Circle, quilting, mission trips and made the rice pudding for their Scandinavian Dinner. Cleone was also a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, enjoyed watching sports, was a diehard Packers fan, loved planting and working with flowers and trips to the Casino. She especially enjoyed family life and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her trips to the Islands with her daughter. Susan.
Cleone is survived by her four children: Susan Ames and Shelby (David) Zillmer, both of Janesville, Douglas Ames of DeSoto, and Sharon (Gregory) Boardman of Indiana; eight grandchildren: Andrea (Andrew) Esser, Dustin Boardman, Trisha Ames, Aaron (Robin) Zillmer, Brent (Emily) Boardman, Michelle Ames, Kylee Boardman and Bryan Ames; five great-grandchildren: Riley, Baylor, Cambria, Emelia and Breckley; a brother, Ronald Yttri of Janesville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cleone was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Trisha; four brothers: Lyle, Vilas, Dwain, Lowell; and two sisters, Erma and Verla.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the time of service at the CHURCH on Thursday.
