Genoa City woman charged with fourth OWI in five years

ELKHORN—A Genoa City woman is facing her fourth drunken-driving charge within five years, according to a criminal complaint filed in Walworth County Court.

Jacquelyn B. Howard, 49, of 437 Valley View Drive is charged with felonies fourth-offense drunken driving and operating with a prohibited alcohol content.

A Genoa City police officer observed Howard driving on Fellows Road at about 8 p.m. Sept. 8. When the officer stopped Howard's vehicle, the officer noticed Howard was slurring her words, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes, the complaint states.

A preliminary blood sample showed Howard had a blood alcohol content of 0.269, according to the complaint.

Howard is free on a signature bond. She will appear in court next at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Walworth County Judicial Center.
