Pearl Elizabeth Garey, age 91, a longtime resident of Edgerton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at the Edgerton Care Center. She was born on Nov. 11, 1923, in Granton, WI, the daughter of the late George H. and Lucia L. (Beaty) Robinson. She was united in marriage on June 24, 1944, to Donald E. Garey, at the Edgerton United Methodist Church. They were blessed with four children. Donald preceded her in death on May 4, 1984. They had lived on the Garey homestead farm all of their married life. Pearl was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church for over 71 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Church Women United, the Joy Circle, and she served as chairperson for the Rotary Dinners at the church. For the years that she was a member of the Edgerton Hospital Auxiliary, her jacket, decorated with many pins of recognition for her work and for the many hours she volunteered, hung on a kitchen cabinet ready to go at a moment's notice. Pearl was also president of the Miller Mother's Club and the Emery Homemakers. Pearl and Donald were Tobacco Days first King and Queen.

Pearl is survived by four loving children: Eileen L. Garey, Donna J. Morgan, both of Janesville, Kristine (Richard) Ostrander of Madison, and Dennis (Vickie) Garey of Edgerton; four grandchildren: Heath (Allison) Garey and Lacy Garey, Angie Curry and Robin Schweder; two step-grandchildren, Timothy and Thomas Ostrander; seven great-grandchildren: Alex, Dillan, Adrianna, Madelyn, Conner, Kevin and Cole; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her two sisters, Hazel and Leona; and her brother, Arnold (Billy).

Funeral services will be held at Noon, on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at the EDGERTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, with Rev. Barbara Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Fassett Cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Friday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The EHLERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES of Edgerton, is assisting the family.
