Thelma Bea Nelson, age 88, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. She was born in Lima Center on Aug. 8, 1927, the daughter of Emil and Bertha (Froh) Sellno. Thelma married Orvan “Bud” Nelson in Whitewater, on Aug. 28, 1959. They moved to Janesville, in October of 1960. She was the School Food Service Director of Janesville Schools for 29 years. Thelma and Bud taught Hunter’s Safety classes for 23 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and was very active in the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed music, reading, cooking, fishing, and spending time with her great grandchildren.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Bud Nelson; daughter, Sandra (Russell) Caley of Milton; grandson, James (Christine) Caley of Janesville; and three great-grandchildren: Zachary, Avery, and Jamison Caley of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wilma Zaspel; and two brothers, Willard and Wesley Sellno.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. James Melvin officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 11 until 1 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
