Janesville man dies in ATV accident

TOWN OF FOREST—A Janesville man died after an ATV accident Saturday in Vernon County.

Kevin Kerl, 54, was pronounced dead just after 2 p.m. Saturday on a rural property northeast of Viroqua, according to a news release from the Vernon County Sheriff's Office.

Kerl was using an all-terrain vehicle to pull a trailer of wood up a steep hill when its wheels began to spin.

Kerl lost control of the ATV, went over an embankment and fell about 20 feet, according to the news release.

The crash remains under investigation.
