Nathan Ray Bliss, age 72, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Brodhead, on Jan. 6, 1943, the son of Earl and Lettie (Hall) Bliss. He attended Brodhead High School and was a Janesville resident for the past 46 years. Nate married Gwen Wolter in Brodhead, on Oct. 14, 1961; and she died on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015. He had worked for General Motors for 37 years, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he worked eight years as an inspector with Grand American Road Racing in Dayton Beach, FL. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and the UAW Local 95. Nate enjoyed NASCAR Racing, the Green Bay Packers, and working on his 1937 Chevy pickup truck.

Nathan is survived by his four children: Jacki (Terry) Seversen of Janesville, Babbi Shaw of Bowling Green, KY, Brad (Angie Zahn) Bliss of Janesville, and Natalie (Lance) Carroll of Janesville; seven grandchildren: Nick (Seanna) Lee, Ethan Lee, Kiara (J.D.) Thompson, Dakota Bliss, Cierra Bliss, Gwendolyn and Abigail Carroll; two great-grandchildren, Addison Lee and Easton Thompson; and two sisters, Marjorie Tessendorf of Brodhead, and Bonnie Young of Belvidere, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and three brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Rob Butz officiating. A visitation will held on Thursday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at the CHURCH. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.
