Darien man dies in Tuesday crash in Walworth County
PrintTOWN OF DARIEN—Walworth County authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash Tuesday that killed a Darien man.
Craig McCue died Tuesday at a local trauma center after his car collided with a pickup truck, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
The initial investigation shows that McCue was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue northbound on Salt Box Road in the town of Darien just after 8 a.m. Tuesday when he failed to stop at the stop sign at S & D Townline Road. He then collided with a 2014 Ford F350 pickup driven by Bradley Ellefson of Clinton, the news release said.
McCue's car struck Ellefson's truck on the passenger side and ended up in a cornfield.
Ellefson was transported to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The news release did not specify the hospitals that treated the men.
