Douglas "Doug" R. Kath, age 67, of Janesville, died on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Janesville, on Oct. 5, 1947, the son of Brigadier General Raymond and Lois (Thiede) Kath. He graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1966. He served in the WI National Guard. Doug retired from Janesville General Motors in 1996, where he served many years as a UAW union steward. In his younger days, he was a wonderful baseball player. Doug enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley Davidson with friends.
Doug is survived by his two sons, Douglas C. (Kristin) Kath and Daniel Kath, both of Janesville; two grandsons, Deegan and Seth; three siblings: Greg (Nancy) Kath of Whitefish Bay, WI, Kortland "Kort" (Cindy Seely) Kath of Cottage Grove, WI, Angie (Kath) Jensen of Stoughton, WI; nieces and nephews: Zachary Bronte, Blair Kath, Brooke Jensen, Erik Kath, and Stefanie Jensen; ex-wife, Debra (Westfall) Kath; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife, Peggy (Courtney) Kath.
Private family memorial will be held at a later date.
