WHITEWATER—The UW-Whitewater Greek community and AmeriCorps are working together to raise awareness about rural youth homelessness.

Through the end of October, AmeriCorps VISTA and UW-W Greek organizations will collect donations for the “Blessing Bag” initiative, according to a UW-Whitewater Panhellenic Council news release.

Each bag will contain basic items, including toiletries, food, drinks, treats, prepaid phone cards and gift cards.

Donated items must be unused and unopened and can be left in a donation box at CESA 2, 1221 Innovation Drive, Whitewater. To schedule a drop-off, contact Megan Mahon at [email protected].

The goal is to collect enough items to assemble 100 bags for distribution in Jefferson County school districts.
