Kenneth C. “Ken” Collins, 79, longtime Milton, WI, resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, with his loving wife and daughter at his side. Ken was born in Elkhorn, WI, where he grew up. After delivering newspapers, his next job was at Borg Industries in Delevan. Ken married Delores Splinter on Nov. 10, 1956. Later Ken was employed at General Motors in Janesville, where Delores and He moved their family to grow up. Ken retired in July 1997. He loved golfing with his “Little Buddy,” Chandler, watching the Packers and Badgers, shooting pool and playing cards. Happiness was just being with friends and family. Ken would talk with anyone and enjoyed the conversation.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Delores Collins of Janesville, WI; his daughter, Naomi (Vince) McGrath of Janesville; grandchildren: Angela Morgan of Milwaukee, Chandler Collins of Fort Wayne, IN, Whitney Collins of Fort Wayne; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Ward of Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Connie Collins of FL; special friends, Brenda and Danielle; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Anna Collins; son, Kenneth C. “Scott” Collins Jr.; son-in-law, Roger Morgan; brothers, Bud and Jerry; and his sister, Eleanor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton, with Fr. Dave Timmerman officiating. Entombment will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, Milton from 5 until 7 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the services at the CHURCH on Tuesday. A memorial will be established at a later date in Ken's name.
