Parker golfers sweep Big Eight meet

The Parker girls golf team swept a Big Eight Conference double-dual meet to improve to 5-2 Thursday.
Keara Richards shot the low nine-hole round with a 39, and the Vikings won easily with a 181. Madison West shot 199 and Madison Memorial’s team was incomplete at Odana.
“Keara is playing with a high degree of confidence and managed the course well,” Parker coach Mary Ross said. “She birdied the par-5 second, which is 423 yards, and the par-4 fourth.
“She’s really hitting the mark.”
Emily O’Leary had the second-best score of all players with a 43.
“Emily is playing solid golf right now,” Ross said. “We just need to polish our short game.”
Parker plays in the Cardinal Invite at Pleasant View on Saturday.
