— SHANTAL A. WHAPLES, 28, of 3723 La Mancha Drive, No. 2, Janesville, at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday at home on suspicion of child neglect and several counts of possession of illegal drugs. Police said they had gone to her apartment to investigate a report of a physical altercation. Police suspect Whaples of possessing marijuana, heroin and illegal prescription pills, in the home. Officers found syringes and other drug equipment in the home, where an infant and a small child are present.
— HOLDEN J. DOBBS, 20, of 215 Oakland Ave., Janesville, at 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5 at an undisclosed location. Police suspect he had attempted an armed robbery at the Looking Glass tavern at 18 N. Main St., Janesville. He also was cited for battery and possession of marijuana.
