Paul Robert Willing

July 16, 1957 - September 6, 2015

BELOIT, WI—Paul Robert Willing, 58, of Beloit, was reunited with the Lord on Sept. 6, 2015, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born July 16, 1957, in Janesville, the first of four children to Roger and Darlene (Legler) Willing. Paul attended Converse Elementary and St. John’s Lutheran Elementary School in Beloit. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, the class of 1975. Paul served in the US Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA. After his discharge, he returned to Beloit and worked in both the sales and security fields. In 1982, his father began a coins and collectables business that he continued to be involved with until his passing. Paul was an excellent cook. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and was an avid sports fan. Paul was like a father to his niece, Amy, and nephew, Brian. Special memories include flying kites at Converse Elementary playground, and getting lost at Governor Dodge State Park. Numerous trips were made to Chicago to see the Sears Tower, Science and Industry Museum, and Shedd Aquarium; Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison; trips to Mall of America; and a week-long vacation to Missouri, where they enjoyed all the shows of Branson, the Precious Moments Museum, and the St. Louis Zoo.

Paul is survived by his parents, Roger and Darlene of Beloit; two sisters, Ruth Podest of Beloit, and Debra (Michael) Stark of Midland, MI; niece, Amy (John Beilharz) Tracy; nephews, Brian (Ashley Wohlrabe) Tracy, all of Beloit, and Noah Stark of Midland, MI; aunts, Virginia Larson of Evansville, and Dorothy Bladorn of Brodhead; great nephews, Daniel and Nathaniel Beilharz; and great nieces, Brooklyn and Ava Tracy, all of Beloit; special friend for many years, Terri Lynn Bale of Beloit; and numerous cousins. Paul was reunited with loved ones including his best friend and brother, David Willing; his maternal and paternal grandparents; maternal uncles; cousins: John, Bob, Jane and Ricky Legler and Ricky Larson; and brother-in-law, Rodney Tracy.

At Paul’s request there will not be a visitation or funeral.

Special thanks to the critical care unit, especially nurses Michelle, Denise and Renee for their kindness to our family.
