Roger H. Temple, age 83, of Janesville, died on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Cedar Crest Health Care Center. He was born on April 26, 1932, in Dubuque, IA, the son of the late Leonard and Hilda (Davis) Temple. Roger graduated from Benton High School, Benton, WI, in 1950, and served in the US Army from 1953 until he was honorably discharged in 1955. On July 13, 1957, he married Marian T. Harwick at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg, WI. Roger was employed by General Motors from 1955 until 1987, lastly as a general foreman in the inspection department, retiring after 32 years of service. He then was employed by Thiem Automotive from 1987 until 1998 as a field service representative. Roger was a very outgoing and determined gentleman, who enjoyed camping, fishing, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Wisconsin Badgers, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Roger is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Marian; three children whom he was very proud of: Diane (Richard) Seidl of Rockford, IL, Judy (Arthur Reynolds) Temple of St. Paul, MN, and Doug (Susan) Temple of Grafton, WI; grandchildren whom he adored: Kevin (Clare) Seidl, Claire and Connor Temple, Evan and Lynn Reynolds; and his precious great-granddaughter, Rowan Seidl. He is further survived by his sisters, Alice Darwin of Brookfield, IL, Shirley (Walter) Brinkmann of Middleton, WI; his brother, Ben (Glenda) Temple of Dubuque, IA; and sisters-in-law, Joan Webber of Shullsburg, WI, and Gloria Harwick of Monroe, WI. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Catherine Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at the WHITCOMB - LYNCH FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Rites provided by VFW Kienow-Hilt Post 1621. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the WHITCOMB - LYNCH FUNERAL HOME and again on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
