Cougars cruise to first Big Eight volleyball win
Janesville Craig had little trouble with Beloit Memorial in a Big Eight Conference volleyball opener Tuesday night, cruising to a 3-0 victory.
The Cougars defeated the host Purple Knights 25-6, 25-10, 25-10 to go to 1-0 in league play.
“We served well and passed the ball well,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said.
Kennedy Cox served five aces, and the Cougars scored 17 points off her serves.
Budrow also liked the way his defense played. It provided quick feeds to the front line.
Mel Tinker led with 14 assists. Amanda Carlson had five kills and six assists.
The Cougars play Janesville Parker next Tuesday.
