Higley powers Beloit past West Michigan

Justin Higley's three-run home run in the fourth inning capped a five-RBI day for the Beloit center fielder as the Snappers beat the West Michigan Whitecaps 9-3 on Sunday.

Higley also drove in two runs with a double in the four-run second inning against West Michigan starter Fernando Perez. Four of the seven runs charged to Perez were unearned as the Whitecaps committed three errors.

Joey Wagman recorded eight strikeouts in six innings for Beloit to improve his season record to 7-2.
