Clinton man wins grand prize in SuperCash! drawing
CLINTON—A Clinton man is $235,000 richer after he pulled the top prize in a state lottery drawing earlier this month.
According to a release from Wisconsin Lottery, Clinton resident Kirk Douglas won the $350,000 top prize in the SuperCash! drawing Aug. 11 after he matched all six winning numbers on a ticket he bought at Tex's Too, a grocery store at 723 Milwaukee Road in Clinton.
His lucky numbers were 1, 10, 12, 20, 32 and 33. Douglas took his money in a lump sum and after taxes received a payment of $235,725, according to the state lottery.
Tex's Too earned a $7,000 retailer incentive, which is 2 percent of the prize, for selling the winning ticket, according to the release.
The odds of winning the top prize in SuperCash! are 1 in 1.7 million, according to the state lottery.
Data from the U.S. Census Bureau and national telephone listings show that Douglas had almost equal odds of winning his lottery prize as having the same name as a famous actor, which Douglas does.
He shares the same name as American actor Kirk Douglas, who is famous for his Oscar-nominated role in the 1952 film noir drama “The Bad and The Beautiful.”
