Luella M. Gilbank, Beloit, WI (1929-2015)

Luella M. Gilbank, 86, of Beloit, died on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at the Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was born on Jan. 18, 1929, in Caledonia, IL, to William and Laurel Fern (Garde) Meiborg. Luella attended Forreston, IL, High School and graduated from South Beloit High School, Class of 1947. After graduation, she married Joseph W. Gilbank on Dec. 2, 1950. Luella was an accomplished seamstress and was always available to answer questions. She made the dresses for all her daughters’ wedding parties. She loved to make rugs and can foods. She also loved sports and was a Cubs and Bucks fan. In addition to this activity, she was also an avid camper. Luella really enjoyed her family as well as her “alone time”.

Luella is survived by her children: Joseph W Gilbank, Jeanne (Gary) Cole, David (Karen) Gilbank, Anne (Dennis) Ames, Ellen (Al) Miller and Douglas (Cindi) Gilbank; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Burdette, Ray, Fay and William Meiborg; and sister, Evelyn Murphy.

The Funeral Service for Luella will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, beginning at 11 a.m. at ROSMAN UEHLING KINZER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM.
